Hi all, I'm looking at two jobs, one of which is considered political advocacy counsel (non-lit based), basically trying to effect change through legislation at the state level, and another more traditional litigation position. My question is, when you go into a non-lit position do you cut yourself off from multiple opportunities going forward, or is it marketable experience that can lead to more job opportunities in the future?

The first one doesn't even sound like an attorney position. So yeah, I'd say you'd be cutting yourself off from both lit positions and non-lit positions.
