Getting noticed after applying to big law

Hi all. Does anyone have any suggestions on how one may get noticed after applying to a large firm through its online application portal? I am actively applying to several places, and it feels like I am just dripping a drop of water into a lake. My resume and cover letter may get me noticed, but how do I even get to the point of where those documents are viewed? I have no personal connections at any of the firms (several are out of state). I don't know the proper etiquette for reaching out directly to specific departments or specific people. Any constructive advice would be appreciated!

General advice is to find someone at the firm, not an attorney or partner, to email, e.g. recruiting coordinator. Other than that and networking, there really is nothing else you can do.
