i fell behind on credit card payments. for a while, i didn't have a job and the cards became delinquent so fml. then later i got a job, which just so happened to be around the same time the board discovered the delinquency. the board asked for a settlement agreement which i did enter into. i'm making payments every month.

now the board asked for proof of timely payments. are they going to wait until i pay off the whole balance? i'm worried because that can take months. btw i have no other issues. this has really dragged out my application. is this going to be a big issue? is there a way to make this go faster? should i see a c&f attorney or ethics professor to help? i graduated and i feel i may lose my job because i can't get the license soon.

I've only know of one attorney who didn't pass C&F because of financial issues, and his situation was exponentially worse than yours. Bankruptcies, multiple foreclosures, tons of debt, etc.

Just do what the board asks of you and make repaying this a priority.

You will be fine. As someone with a bunch of credit card debt, I was admitted to practice. I even know a person who went through bankruptcy who was admitted. Your situation is better than a lot of people out there.
