Bar Passage for USAO offices

I know that certain CA USAO Offices require that you pass the CA bar. Are other USAO offices the same way? For example, DC or EDNY?

SDNY and EDNY only require bar membership. It doesn't have to be NY.
DC also only requires bar membership. It doesn't have to be DC - although if you're a member of a bar, you can waive into DC pretty easily.
CD California requires CA bar membership. NDCA does not.
District of South Carolina requires SC bar membership.
I think there's one district in Florida that requires Florida bar membership.
There are some U.S. District Courts in the country where the rules of the court require that a person be a member of that state's bar to be admitted to practice in the federal court. That's what's going on when a USAO require membership in the state's bar in order to apply.

How do you know the SDNY USAO doesn't require NY admission? Do you just file a pro hac vice motion every time you appear?
