Has anyone here done this type of work in a big law firm setting? What does it entail and would you say you enjoyed it? Also, are there exit options to VC firms, etc?

Yes.

It involves helping entrepreneurs and investors raise financing and also general company representation for their businesses, as at least early stage companies are too small to have their own in-house counsel. You can find out more about this kind of law by looking at firms that are very strong in it--Cooley, Wilson Sonsini, Gunderson, Goodwin (to name a few).

Generally there are exits to in-house (at clients). It is far less typical to move to a VC. VC's counsels most often are investment management counsel, more adept at setting up the fund structures that support VC. I'm not saying that moving to VC's doesn't happen, but it's quite rare.
