huh? Don't those firms require hitting a target for eligibilityAnonymous User wrote:Lockstep firms..ur_hero wrote:Hours are low, but a bonus is still on the table? o.O
I believe each of Cravath, S&C, DPW, STB, Cleary, PW, Deb and Milbank pay bonuses so long as you are employed and in "good standing" (and as far as i know, none impose hours requirements as proxies for good standing). There are probably a few others i'm missing.jd20132013 wrote:Oh
Lol.
At one of the firms that has no billable requirement to get a bonus. That's exactly what happens. Biglaw bonuses aren't really a true bonus anyway, and at a firm where everyone gets it, we just consider it part of total comp.jd20132013 wrote:I mean I don't work any of those places but I find it hard to believe that a cravath is giving someone who bills 1850 a full bonus when their peers are cranking out that sweet 2600 hour year
But that's just my uninformed take I have no evidence
You get the bonus, but you get fired soon thereafter for being slow.jd20132013 wrote:ok I stand pleasantly corrected then. Sucks to be the gunners killing themselves for no greater bonus I guess. But that's true even when firms set a minimum I suppose.

At one of the firms listed above. Have lateral offer in hand but have been ultra slow. Plan to leave right when bonus is paid. Think I’m safe?Yugihoe wrote:You get the bonus, but you get fired soon thereafter for being slow.jd20132013 wrote:ok I stand pleasantly corrected then. My firm, also named, pays bonuses even after notice is given (2 confirmed cases). Don’t see why giving notice on bonus day would matter.Anonymous User wrote:At one of the firms listed above. None are in the business of firing people, it's terrible PR and bad bus dev since they all count on alums to infiltrate the F500 and keep the gravy train running. If you haven't had a bad formal review/talk about picking up your hours I'd be absolutely stunned if you were laid off.Anonymous User wrote:At one of the firms listed above.
