Does your practice group throw some type of celebration after a BIG win?
If so, are we talking about heading to a lunch, the local bar, country club, the Ritz, the firm or ...?

The team who worked on the matter usually does a big, boozy dinner in the private dining room of some fancy restaurant.

Same. At least that's how it starts

Corporate, so "win" is generally closing (or in some cases signing if particularly challenging to get there), but what normally happens is someone sends a nice email thanking everyone and promising to convene celebratory drinks and then no celebratory drinks ever happen. Instead everyone moves onto their other matters which had fallen by the wayside leading up to the celebratory milestone.

Not in big law or even private practice, but fwiw: After a favorable verdict the trial team usually gets to take the rest of the day off, and as far as I can tell they pretty much go home and sleep/try to dig out of the mess that’s accumulated while in trial.

I distinguish between (1) finishing a brief/purchase agreement/something that needs to be filed by a deadline, which is normally a happy hour and take the rest of the day off, and (2) closing dinner, which is the boozy private dinner.
So the "win" is the extravagant one, goal markers are still nice to celebrate though.

At my firm it varies by the group leader/partner. Most groups celebrate regularly, but sadly others do not.
