Acceptance Letter/ Gift From Firms 2017?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Sep 08, 2017 12:05 pm

I am wondering if firms send out an official acceptance letter after you have accepted an offer? I also read that some firms send acceptance "gifts". Has anyone received either of these?

I received an acceptance letter after accepting over the phone in a few days. I have not gotten a gift. But I did get one last spring (I was a 1L SA who is going back to the firm for a 2L SA). I think they would send one maybe when hiring is absolutely done, likely end of fall.

I was hired in the spring of my 3L by a v10 and received an acceptance gift shortly before my July bar exam.

They'll probably send you some swag and your offer letter, and another gift during the holidays.

What were your stats :P

3L strike out looking for motivation. Did you get it through MM or symplicity?

I heard that firms have given out some pretty cool stuff in the past to people who accept their offers. Has anyone gotten anything interesting?

I think most of that stuff is going to be coming after all the offers are out, so not until late October (at the earliest). I know for sure that a number of firms sent their swag out toward the end of the semester as finals/holiday gifts.

I got a miniature succulent garden from S&C! Apparently they've moved on from bonsais.. IMO it is a pretty sweet gift, given that I have way too many electronic screens in my life and not nearly enough plants.

K&E sent brownie bites (delicious brownie bites) to offerees.

I'd feel bad about rejecting them, but it's hard to feel bad when eating brownies.

Nothing yet but they did send us a survey last month asking us our jacket sizes. So I'm guessing some sort of coat or something this winter?

Do 3Ls usually receive holiday gifts or "good luck on exam" baskets, or is this just something firms send to their incoming 2L summer class?

No idea why they would move on from bonsais. Bonsais are cool.

Wow S&C saved like a hundred, maybe a few thousand bucks. GJ S&C they're recession-proof now.

I got brownies from Kirkland literally sent after I had already turned down the offer.

Debevoise sent a list of course suggestions at some point last month. Oh, they also sent a banker bag as an acceptance gift.
