Transitioning back into private law firm practice from non-attorney military/LE work

Any thoughts on a transition from non-attorney position in the military (e.g., active duty office) or law enforcement (e.g., FBI or DHS agent), back into private legal practice at a V100-type law firm?
Assuming CCN graduate, 1 year at V15 firm, and then moved into one of these types of non-attorney careers, is there much of a chance for a return to private law firm practice? Does anyone have first-hand experience or anecdotal evidence re: such a move?
I have enjoyed the biglaw litigation experience and could see myself doing it for an indefinite period--so moving into a non-attorney position is not some kind of desperate escape from the horrors of biglaw. And ultimately, I see myself retiring as a private litigator. However, my biological clock window for doing something like infantry officer or FBI agent will probably close in the next 3-5 years.
