Please advise - cite checking assignment

Hi all, please bear with me while I ask this super basic question. Until recently, I've done very little legal writing in the course of my day-to-day work.

A partner has sent me a non-billable project. I'm supposed to cite check a law review article. Can someone explain to me in detail what the partner expects? Is that mainly bluebooking and making sure all the references are accurately represented?

You know, the law review journal he sends that to will have their 2Ls cite check it again before they publish.

You got it. Confirm that the citations are bluebooked, the pincites are to the right pages, and the cases actually stand for the propositions for which they are cited.

There may also be a shepherdizing component. I would actually speak to the partner to clarify their expectations and make sure y'all are on the same page. This is the kind of question you should ask them.
