What is the reputation of Morgan Lewis NYC? Maybe its a result of recent mergers, but its odd that their NYC office is not listed on NALP or not listed in the "top 40 firms in NYC" on Vault, yet they have multiple band rankings in Chambers.
Is this a good office? What are comparable firms in NYC?

I went for a callback here. The office is.... dated. Doesn't seem like a pleasant place to work. Associates seemed worn out. Not sure about specific practice area strengths although I believe they have relatively large IM / finance groups in NY. Anecdotally, other NYC attorneys I've spoken with about the office have been less than impressed with the firm.

Had a callback there a couple of years ago. Generally echo what the above poster said. Beaten-down vibe from the people. Office was terrible. Not sure what the NY office excels at work-wise. I know they are generally known for labor/employment in the other offices, but from what I can tell the NY office does lower-tier funds work.

Also curious about them. Any other input?

Disagree the office is dated, especially considering their new lower floors which are absolutely gorgeous.

I work at this office. Most floors are very dated, and the new lower floors are not gorgeous - they're fine.
Office is good for L&E and structured finance and not much else. Cheap place but the people are generally ok to work with. I don't really recommend it if you have other NYC options, but it's not uniquely bad for biglaw.
