Room Service?

I have a callback tomorrow with a DC firm and they put me up in a nice hotel. Is it appropriate to order room service or should I go out and get my own food ? Silly question I know, but don't want to do anything to mess up

I don't know the answer, really, but if you don't want to do anything to mess up, why wouldn't you err on the side of caution and just get your own food? It's possible they reimburse meals too, anyway, and you can figure that out later.

Most firms pay room + tax up front and reimburse incidentals later. Dont charge room service to the firm, pay for it yourself and get reimbursed later.

Not a problem at all in my experience

It probably won't be a problem, and you should read the travel expenses covered by the firm when they inform you about your CB, but you should also figure out how they are billing and covering expenses.

You can probably get room service pretty easily, but if you want to play it safe, just run out and grab dinner, keep the receipt, and follow the pretty standard NALP procedure for being reimbursed for expenses, depending on how the firm reimburses.

My best advice is to think logically and realistically about these decisions. If you think it will rub a potential future employer wrong, just don't do it. Even if it wouldn't hurt your chances in reality, you haven't offended anyone by avoiding it.

There's gotta be better food out there than room service even at a nice hotel. Enjoy and good luck with your CB tomorrow.

Ordering room service is fine. In fact, it's easier for the firm to deal with because your meal is listed on the hotel bill (which they're reimbursing you for anyway) instead of on a separate receipt.

It is fine.

However, I am such a worry wart I'd always order pizza or get like McDonalds for some weird reason. Oh well no more CBs at least!

Get the room service and enjoy it. CBs were the first time I stayed at a fancy hotel and ordered room service. Was baller. Just make sure to stay under the limit ofc.
