Follow up with partner re: pre-OCI callback?

I had a pre-OCI callback at a particular firm about a month ago. Would it be appropriate to reach out to a partner that I made connections with (who is on the hiring committee), expressing my continued interest and asking for an update? Or is this a question better suited for recruiting, or perhaps something I shouldn't ask at all?

At this point I honestly don't think it'd hurt to follow up with the partner. I did this today with a firm I haven't heard back from since my relatively long-ago CB.
