(This thread is a manali/blue lotus free zone btw)

No love for the fellowship crowd on this forum, it seems!
I'm applying for both. I've heard you hear back from Skadden really quickly if you get an interview. Do you know anything about that?

I've heard that EJW extends offers as late as June, ugh. It's gonna be a long year.

I'm the OP. I ended up not submitting my application because I got an offer from a plaintiff side firm, and decided to roll with that instead of taking my chances with the fellowship process.
As to the timeline: SBP indicated that interview invitations should be going out today at the info session at my school. Good luck to all those who applied!

I haven't heard of any calls going out today but a buddy of mine in a previous year didn't hear until after 11pm, so I can't tell if we failed to advance or if it's just too early.

Also didn’t hear anything today. Maybe that’s a wrap.

I looked into it, and last year there were 10days between app submission and phone calls. Maybe tomorrow?

Either way --- congrats!

I applied in the middle of the day on September 18. I'm not at a T20, but there have been several Skadden fellows from my school over the past couple decades. I haven't heard anything yet but based on this thread, I'm now getting pretty anxious. I just submitted my EJW application today too.

Got my call at 8:15 pm. Applied middle of the day of Sept. 18 also.
Can breathe now which is handy for finishing up this damn EJW application. Can't wait to be done because I haven't prepared properly for class in two days.

A friend of mine got a callback at 9pm, that's the only one I heard of. I'm going to guess that's it, then.
I submitted EJW tonight as well, here's to better luck with that one
Congratulations, by the way, to 9:08!!

Does anyone know whether SBP ever does a second round of calls for interviews, or is it just the one? Is it worth waiting until tomorrow or is she done?

Yeah, I got my call last night right before slipping that EJW app in just before the deadline!

Congratulations to everyone who got the calls!
Does someone know if we get notified if we're being rejected at this stage? If so, is it by mail, email, or phone? Or do we just assume and never find out?

Just got my letter rejection. Standard "we got more applicants than slots" message, but on very nice letterhead.

Does anyone have an idea when EJW will send out notifications that you have moved onto the interview stage? Ended up not applying to Skadden (would have been a long shot).

Their website said mid-December, but I have no idea 1. if that's actually true or 2. why they could possibly need that much time.

Probably trying to coordinate with Skadden which notifies on Nov 18. In past years the two processes happened simultaneously but continuing on with one (I think) meant withdrawing from the other, which was a shitty gamble.

I got a finalist call today.
To those who made it to semi-finals and didn't get a call-- you are awesome and brilliant and your commitment to public interest is so fucking rad. And this whole process isn't something that reflects on you.

Made it to the semifinals stage, went all the way to NYC for the interview, then got a rejection e-mail an hour after I got home. It feels shitty not being able to crack the top 56 out of 97.
Wondering if the applicant pool was really that competitive, or I just didn’t stroke SBP’s ego enough.
Where my fellow rejects at?
