First Year Big Law Corporate Associate. In addition to a slow first few months, I had to retake the bar exam (took 4 weeks off paid leave - passed).

My hours trend has been up since then (170-200 per month) but I'm now only on pace to bill 1500-1600 by the end of the billable year barring a few consecutive insane 200-300 hour months. Does this seem horribly low?

No. First years often have low hours for various reasons. It's a good sign that you're now billing 170 - 200.

Naw, your're good.

First year Corp here too - on pace for maybe 800. You're fine.

My firm (biglaw nyc) corporate has been slow. Lots of people billed less than 1500 hours in 2016. No one was fired.

At least you passed the bar! And good sign that you are now getting work. Don't sweat it.
