Has anyone heard from journals yet? I'd assume they may impact peoples' bid lists, but I haven't heard back.

Based on last year's timeline I don't think you'll hear back until tomorrow or Wednesday, unless things are on a different schedule this year.

Bid lists are due tomorrow at 8 am...were they due later last year?

I was referring to the journal timeline. I know the last two years people found out about journals after submitting their bid lists - it looks like last year bids were due Monday night at 11:59pm and people found out about journals on Wednesday, and for my year we had bids due on Monday at 11:59pm but found out about journals on Tuesday evening.

I think the rising 3Ls will probably have a better idea about whether the journal grading deadlines were bumped up this year though. Did you get any emails about what day to expect to hear back from journals?

I asked about journal notification a couple weeks back. They said decisions should start coming tomorrow, assuming everything stays on schedule.

ETA: So obviously this will be after bid lists are due.

I don't understand why they do it that way, if law review would change where people should consider bidding. Either way, thank you both for your help!

Yeah it definitely sucks, but I don't think OCS consults with Student Affairs when deciding on the deadline. If it helps, Law Review isn't going to make or break anything. Choose your reach/target firms based on your grades and don't count on a certain journal being a tipping point as to whether a firm will consider you or not.

Mostly by phone, I think ... but looks like some have come out by email in past years, depends on the journal.

Fyi, Facebook post on the class of 2019 page says all scores have been submitted, seems to suggest that we should start hearing soon and some may have heard already.

Yes and yes. They had to notify via email, because the editor won't be able to make calls today.

JILP is out. Email to people who didn't get anything is out. Law review hasn't I don't think. Social change is out.

Based on 2+ reliable sources who should have received a call from Law Review if anyone did: Law Review did not notify anyone last night.

And I don't know if it's out yet, but yes, I believe you do get notified if you don't get matched with a journal. I think that usually only happens when you don't rank enough publications and gamble on one or two.
