Second year thinking about quitting/finding another job simply because I'm stuck with an associate/screamer for next few months. I don't need this shit. What can I do for now though to make this situation less shitty?

Just gotta suck it up. I'd just avoid and communicate via emails as much as possible but obviously not always gonna work. Try not to take it out on others though. Find people to do fun social stuff with outside of work to take your mind off the shittiness.
As for lateraling/quitting -- i would not quit without something lined up, but by the time you do get something chances are those months of working for the screamer are over already. So, kind of all depends if you think the grass is truly greener. Many firms have screamers or otherwise unfair senior associates / partners and sometimes you just will get stuck with them.

There are screamer associates at every firm and there's not much you can do to avoid them. I found out at my firm that they don't even get to review you, so I basically just treated it like bad weather, did my work, and stopped apologizing. It still sucks, but forcibly disconnecting really helps.

I've never encountered a screamer nor have I ever heard one in my hall. That being said, I don't doubt they exist, but I'm curious - what exactly do they do? Are they physically screaming?
