Big Law & Army Reserves

Current NYC big law associate thinking of enlisting as a reservist. Wondering what other peoples' experiences were that have enlisted while in big law and their firms' reactions. I do not want to stay at my firm long term.
If not comfortable sharing, a PM would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Also interested in this. I spoke with someone at my V10 firm that is a reserve JAG officer, and he said the firm is supportive, and pro-rates his billable hour requirement for the year based on the amount of time he is gone on reserve duty/training, but still gives him a full, non-pro-rated bonus when he meets the pro-rated requirement.
Might be different if you are truly "enlisting" (i.e., not becoming an officer) and not going the JAG route, as the firm will probably see your service as less valuable to them from a marketing/experience standpoint.

Planning on doing this, but haven't started yet. Firm seems supportive so far, hope it stays that way. JAG, not enlisted.
