2L-top 50%-no journal-lower T1. The only thing I could get for the summer was a twice a week gig at a small firm. Will I get a job?

What market are you working in or wanting to work in?

I wouldn't give up hope. This is an opportunity to come in, work hard, put out your best work product and show the firm what you can do. Network. You are getting experience and making connections. Do a great job and you never know. Do a great job and you could be building solid connections or references for your job search for after graduation.

Don't get down on yourself.

Summer hiring is not over yet. Keep an eye on your school's symplicity and shoot applications all over your respective city. May be able to find something more full time or find something for the other 2 or 3 days of the week. Parlay that experience into something more and hopefully a full time gig down the road.

Also, be all up in your Career Services office's business. Talk to your professors. Put the word out through your friends--late breaking stuff does indeed come in. Normal folks don't really think of mid-May as summer, so there are definitely some good things. Ask your school if you can work at a clinic or be a research asst for a prof too. Schedule a meeting with your dean and career services head. Don't be shy. You gotta make this happen. Get out of your comfort zone and don't be afraid to say, "I'm looking. I'm hungry. I will work hard. I _need_ a job for the rest of the week." All the best.
