Hi all.
I have a C&F issue I was hoping someone could help me with.
I have been diagnosed with a personality disorder and been in intensive outpatient treatment (2x/week) for about 2 years. I am well-functioning, about to graduate from a T14, with a job secured at the law firm I summered at. I'm worried my mental illness will prevent me from passing the C&F portion of the bar. Everything is well documented through my insurance. The New York bar specifically asks about mental illness, including personality disorders.
Is the advice to talk to a C&F attorney? I'd love some advice.

If the management of the disorder requires continued intense 2X outpatient therapy (and there is nothing wrong in that, I commend you for getting treatment and continuing to kick ass) you're most likely going to want to consult a C&F attorney.

They may tell you not to worry about it, or they may help you through the process.

Definitely consult a C&F attorney and get way ahead of this.

Before you go consulting with a C&F atty, aka someone that is trying to get clients (not knocking the hustle; just being honest) perhaps you can call the NYS bar and get advice. There's a number that gives you advice and allows you to remain anonymous. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure a quick Google search can fix that.

As someone that has navigated the C&F process, I agree with this. It would cost you about 5k to get a lawyer, when you may not need to use one at all. Find out how the bar handles this, from the source, then consider getting an attorney if necessary.
