Just spitballing here. But, say you're representing a tenant against his/her landlord. What is preventing you from asking an associate or partner in your firm's real estate group for some general advice?

At least for us, we tend to have wide open doors across practice groups. If the corporate folks have a litigation question, they come to us to ask, and vice-versa.

I've run my own landlord tenant matters since I was a first year by myself. You can figure it out. Ask legal aid if you have a question, but I think trial by fire is good for a lawyer to grow.

You should do what is normally done in your firm. You may have to have a partner formally involved for malpractice liability reasons if nothing else. Ask.
