Is it hard moving back to the US after working in HK or Singapore

I am thinking about moving to HK/Singapore and taking a job inhouse with a multinational company (non us based). I'm American and my legal training and work is all US based.

I've talked to some people in HK and Singapore and the message has been pretty mixed. Some say that you will actually have more opportunities back in the US if I ever want to come back. Others have said that it is almost impossible to come back.

I just enjoy living in Asia a lot more than the US and to me it feels more like home, even though I was born in the US. However, I recognize that there may be a change in heart after living a few years abroad.

Does anyone on this forum have any experience with working in Asia and trying to come back to the US?

I don't really have an answer to your question (I've heard/seen people lateraling from asia biglaw to us biglaw but not from inhouse) but I am interested in moving to hk/sg. If you don't mind sharing, what year are you? and did you use a recruiter? do you speak a local language? Thanks

I think the sample sizes are too low to draw any real conclusions.
