I am trying to reconnect with a partner who dinged me two years ago. (Please don't reply like move on dude)
I want to send my updated resume in a smooth way. What should I write in the email body? Basically I just want him to look at my (improved) resume but don't want to put him on pressure or anything. Any ideas?

Make a LinkedIN account and add him.

One strategy would be to ask him to coffee - say that since you interviewed with him a few years ago, you've been following his career and would like to learn more about his path. That give a more natural mentor/mentee approach to you getting an updated resume to him.

Make a LinkedIn account and email him the link to it.
But in all seriousness, a LinkeIn account is a pretty good idea even though you want to use email

I wouldn't send the email. Partners get thousands and thousands of emails. Yours will get lost in the shuffle. There's a decent chance the partner would just quickly delete it and move on with his busy day.
As noted, the LinkedIn invite is a good option as it is less likely to get lost in the ether. But so is a handwritten note on linen stationary. Get yourself a good, Montblanc pen (or borrow one) and ask him to coffee/tea in your note. He would appreciate either of these options, but the email is not going to work.

I've cold emailed partners and received responses so who knows if he'll reply to your email.

LMFAO. If this is a thing, then I'm glad I'm from Texas.

Wait, this isn't necessary in Texas? Damn.

LOL. All of the biggest oil and gas deals in Texas are executed with Montblanc pens.
It looks like someone isn't doing the biggest deals.

Ask her secretary about an out of office event she'll be doing. Go to the event, accidentally spill coffee on her and help hier clean up. Ask to make up for it with drinks after the event. Meet her there, play some drinking games. Do NOT talk about law. If you're smooth, you should be able to make it happen. This is why most attys to to these events and stay overnight without their spouses after all. If that doesn't work out, I hate to say it, it might be best to move on
Edit: *him..Whatever floats your boat I guess....
