Hypothetically, if you lateral into a V100 firm and just suck at your job no matter how hard you try. The partners realize this pretty early on, will they still go through the warning, severance, hoops? Or because you are a lateral who recently joined GTFO immediately?

I've heard you get a much shorter leash as a lateral.

However, it's xo/tls flame that you get huge amounts of severance. My firm gave one month. Quinn gives 6 weeks.

Shorter leash as in, less of a tolerance for screwups or less severance? How could anyone possibly find a job within 4 weeks?
