First off, TIP seems down this year compared to last (the numbers the school gave said there were over 90 interview slots for 40 something employers in 2016). Secondly, most of the non-Big 4 employers look like they are only looking for specialized groups (EB and T&E) or are in the state of Texas.
So, for those of us not wanting to go to Texas, is there a point of applying for a firm in the EB or T&E practice group if I don't want to practice either of those areas? Could I lateral into a general tax practice group afterwards?
