I'm a 3L who recently accepted an offer at a biglaw firm I didn't summer at. The offer is contingent on passing conflicts check. I submitted my conflicts form weeks ago and haven't heard back. Does this usually take a long time? Feeling paranoid .

Don't feel paranoid. Especially as an associate, conflicts aren't a very big deal. I've worked with people who have gone to firms where they were ethically screened off of huge clients (they were directly adverse to those clients in litigation). Those checks are really for compliance sake, and to make sure a partner's business isn't largely dependent on a non-waivable conflict. There is almost nothing as a 3L that you could have done that would be a non-starter conflicts-wise, and in all likelihood the group who processes it is backlogged / slow.

I don't think it would be unreasonable to drop your recruiting contact an email asking for an update.
