Top Law Schools

I've heard stories from people saying that once they go to biglaw overseas that it is often extremely difficult to come back. Unlike other countries like the UK/Australia, I've heard American firms to somewhat look down on "international experience" unless it fits in whatever niche you are in.

Is that the same case for inhouse attorneys? Do US corporations generally value overseas experience?
