Hi all, have offers from both and trying to decide where to spend my 2L summer and possibly start my career. Want to do transactional; interested in Corp. M&A, Capital Markets & Securities, and Emerging Company Venture Capital. Thank you

Which way are you leaning, if at all?

I'd recommend Kaye Scholer. Kaye has a chambers ranking in corporate while Norton Rose does not (if I'm not mistaken). Kaye also has a 100% offer rate and Norton no offered 10 SA's last year.

I interviewed with Kaye and ultimately decided on a different firm-- but I really liked the people. The office is also brand new. I can't speak to Norton's NYC office.

if i were you, that's all the info I would need to know to make my decision.

Kaye Scholer is a lit shop. Might not be the best place to go if you only want transnational.

can confirm that Norton Rose NYC is 100% offer rate.

norton rose has a better office

Kaye Scholer is constantly thought to have one of the best summer programs in the country every year if that makes a difference.

Not OP, but should this be a significant consideration, or even one at all? I mean summer is only 10-12 weeks. Shouldn't OP be looking at where he wants to start his career (which has much less to do [or maybe nothing to do] with the strength of the summer program)?

I'm in TX, not NY, and don't know anything about NRF's NY office. But I wouldn't recommend NRF corporate here to anyone.

Lots of no offers (sounds like that maybe isn't the case for NY office), never see them on any deals, and there's typically better options for someone in TX who has an offer there to choose from. I don't know anything about Kaye Scholer though.

Off topic but when did you receive the NRF NY offer?
