Had a call back interview with them recently. Has any one heard from them yet? How much time between callback to offer?

Applied a couple of weeks ago. My references haven't been called yet. Is that bad?

I had a callback about a week after my on-campus interview.

Oops sorry. I had a first-round a few weeks ago and a phone call inviting me to second-round a week after. I have the second-round interview in October.

Don't think so - they didn't call my references until after my callback, so I think that's a "later in the process" type thing

Still leaning towards "don't think so" - they have a lot of applicants (plus an actual legal practice) to work through; it takes time, and I'd wager the order in which people's references are called is a pretty weak predictor of success

Right. I'm just worried they won't call them at all because they've eliminated me from contention already. They said they would call my references though..

Wow I'm sorry :(. I thought they dinged people via mail. I haven't heard anything yet and my CB was more than a month ago. Do you think I'm on waitlist of some sort? I don't think my references have been called yet..

Did they outright ding you or did they say they wanted to keep your application open?

Got an "unable to offer a position at this time," so I'd say that's an outright ding

Just FYI for all, callbacks expected to continue for at least another week then > meeting with recruiting > meeting with an exec staffer

So, potentially 2 more interviews after the callback one

I just received an email that they want to hold my application and keep it open. Apparently they sent that email and then called my references. But they also said they need to figure out what spots are available before they call me back in for further interviews.

Anyone know if NYC Law Dept is prestigious? They pay OK for PI and seem like a good place to get solid litigation skills, but I wonder what kind of exit options there are and what people think about them?

Has anyone heard post callback news other than dings/holds? Trying to figure out if post callback silence at this stage is a good or bad thing (or nothing at all).
