Considering NYC at kirkland/weil in bankruptcy. obviously, they do mostly debtor work. How hard is it to lateral in a few years to a smaller place doing creditor work and/or commercial litigation? Work seems super interesting (way more than general coporate) but may need better work/life balance than debtors counsel after a few years.

Easy to move to creditor side practice. Commercial lit will be harder unless you've gotten some true litigation experience, which is possible but probably more likely that litigators will be brought in instead of using bankruptcy associates.
