Exit Ops from State SG?

What kind of exit opportunities would be available generally from a major state Solicitor General's office? (NY, CA etc.) Assuming the candidate has a normal pedigree (T14, CoA clerkship etc.)?
Would a transition to DoJ appellate be feasible? Would private firms even be interested at all?

I would think private firms would be interested, depending (as w/most gov't employment) on the level to which you advanced within government.
But that's partly why I'm confused, because generally a move into a state SG office is considered the sort of exit option that one would want from BigLaw.
What's your situation, OP? Is this like a post-clerkship fellowship?

This was a pure hypothetical. I'm clerking after LS and some of my profs have ties to a major state SG's office (which does on occasion hire straight out of clerkships).
I would definitely consider it, but at some point I'd like the ability to do work at a firm to bolster the finances.
