Our first year associate is way too enthusiastic. Says hi every time I see him. Told me how much he's enjoying the (inane) I assignment gave him. I loathe him.

Hijacking the thread a little bit, but how do you approach the question of why you're lateraling as a first/rising second year? It seems hard to come across as genuine without saying anything negative.
