Investment management/corporate firm choices

Looking to get IM experience in an SA mostly but would want to try out other corporate assignments.
Choices are Willkie DC & NY, Dechert DC, Schulte NY
Prefer DC but didn't hate being in NY as much as I thought I would. Other than relative city costs is there any QOL of difference? The sales pitch from DC seems to be that there's more flexibile work options/teleworking even if the hours are just as bad, any truth to this?
Schulte definitely has the hedge fund focus, Willkie seems to be focused on private side as well, Dechert DC seems to be focused on registered fund stuff. Any insight into the firms themselves or to registered v. private fund work would be nice.
