Following up with interviews at firms that went silent?

I interviewed with my preferred firm 5 weeks ago, and sent in a follow up reiterating my interest after 3 weeks (making it 2 weeks ago from today since the follow up email), then received a half CB 1.5 weeks ago asking more questions about my availability and why I left my firm. I didn't get a promise of a CB but the hiring partner mentioned that he appreciated following up to remind him and that they are still reviewing candidates and will get back to me later in the week (last week). Should I send an email again to reiterate my interest since 1 week has passed from the date promised? This partner seems busy and needs a little nudge to get moving.

There's nothing wrong with writing to express your continued interest. It's not going to matter one way or the other, but go ahead and do it if it makes you feel better.
