Looking for some help here. I am interested in NYC and would like to focus on the firm's corporate practice. Looking for the firm with the best overall practice, culture, and prospects.

Do you have interest in certain practice areas in corp b/c that could narrow down the field a little.

OP here. Have offers from all those firms at the moment. Realize I am very lucky.
Not entirely sure what practice group within corporate. Just wanted to see what people thought and to hear some advice.
Seems like it should be down between Willkie and Cahill.

Those are definitely the strongest. I don't know much about Willkie. If you're looking to be a
finance lawyer, you won't go wrong with Cahill. They do lender-side work, so you'll work closely with financial institutions. Easy to lateral out to banks as everyone gets an opportunity to do a secondment too.

If you want to do what Cahill does, go wth Cahill (fwiw, Cahill doesn't do corporate law, it does high-yield finance, which is really different work). Otherwise, Willkie has an good and well-rounded corporate practice - they do a fair bit of board advising and M&A and such.

I don't know if you saw this or was even the one to pose this question to itbdvorm but see below for his/her thoughts on Cahill and Willkie:

Solid firms, both. Cahill's got a really fantastic underwriter-side lev fin practice (one of the tops in the city, only a handful in the same tier); really specific niche but great to transition into a position at the bank. Generally good people from what I recall. Also have the infamous Floyd Abrams for the litigators
Willkie is a bit more generalist - they're good at a number of different things, but my guess is their strengths are not as strong as Cahill's.
I'd do some background research on their specialties and what you think you want to do, plus fit. Good luck.
