How Does Recruiting After CB Work?

I am assuming the partners and associates I interviewed with are not all on the Hiring Committee. So, when the Hiring Committee meets, how do they evaluate the CB? Also, how much say do associates we interviewed with have in the decision making process? 2 of the 5 interviews I had during my recent CB were with associates and those interviews went incredibly well.

This is all firm dependent but assume every attorney you met with is given a survey and asked to rate you on some spectrum of "No" to "wouldn't be offended if offered but probably no" to "definitely suggest offering but no big deal if no" to "one of the best candidates I've seen". There will also be comments sections.

From there all surveys are given to the hiring committee who is tasked with making sense of them in the aggregate. Presumably they value partner reviews more at this point but who knows. They also may have different standards depending on when in the hiring season it happens, schools, grades etc. since your resume and transcript will also be in front of them even if they didn't interview you.

Following this they put you in a yes, no or hold pile.

That's my understanding as to process generally, individual firms may vary.
