Davis Polk v. Cravath v. Kirkland (NY) for Lit

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Aug 10, 2016 8:56 am

I know this and similar topics have been covered here before, but not many regarding litigation specifically. I have a preference for commercial lit and white collar. I would like to have the best chance of landing an USAO EDNY/SDNY position down the line. I also like working on smaller teams and have no problem with the rotation system or open assignment system -- I could see myself working at and liking any of these three.

Kirkland - seems to offer great opportunities for young associates in litigation to take on serious responsibility if they prove themselves capable and willing.

Davis Polk - the people I met were great, the commercial litigation and white collar practices are excellent, and the assignment system allows litigators to take on different kins of cases, i.e., some white collar, some securities lit, some commercial lit.

Cravath - really like the idea of rotation system, purported early responsibility, generalist focus. I know the white collar group is young and growing, and I would be unlikely to do any white collar work during my first rotation.
