Alternative term of endearment for "hon"

Hi TLS.

Question: Of late, the word "hon" as a term of endearment for women has fallen into disfavor. I have long used the word. My go-to term for men is "bud."

Without litigating the (de)merits of "hon," can others suggest alternative, professionally appropriate terms of endearment for female colleagues?

Thanks.

Just use people's name.

Anything else can sound (and likely does) sound patronizing. I can only imagine if someone called me "hon" in a professional setting on a bad day.

I would not attempt to use a term of endearment unless you care to be reported to hr.

I also hate the word bud unless I'm close to that person. Same goes for "boss", "chief", "champ", "pal", "sport", etc.
What are you, my dad?
You wouldn't call a partner or a superior "bud". Not saying you should treat your peers the same as a partner, but the term is somewhat condescending.

I think the only acceptable term is "man" as in "hey man did you catch the game last night". Or "dawg" as in "what up dawg can you help me with this brief...".

I'd go with "slick." It's great for any gender.

Seems like an appropriate moment to post: Goodbye to ‘Honeys’ in Court, by Vote of American Bar Association http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/10/busin ... -bars.html

And, echoing everyone above, I would strongly encourage you to use their names

I also say use "man" without regard to gender...like "hey man, that's a cute shirt"

In retrospect it seems a little weird that I say things like that

There is none. And their name is obviously out of the question. Your only hope is to vote for Trump so that he can deliver you safely back into the womb of the mid-20th century.

I meant first names. Obviously they're Mrs. Whatever after they get married.
