International grads of American laws schools.

I'm a Canadian who just graduated from UMN Law and I'm kinda stuck and looking for advice. I guess I'm looking to hear stories from fellow Canadian/international students on what you did after graduating from an American law school.

What did you do after graduating? Where did you go? Did you go back home? How did you get a job?

I applied for a local document review position and they replied quite quickly to me - they plan on calling me on Monday. I should've raised the H1b issue at the get go but I didn't. I don't want to string the firm along under the false pretense that I am an American. At the same time, I feel like there is no way I would get an H1b for a doc-review job.

Any advice?

That is very helpful. Thank you so much.

Also, how would I go about doing a change of visa status in the US? I'm currently in the US on a B2.

Is this for real? You just graduated from a US law school as a non-immigrant and are just now considering immigration issues? Fortunately you should get a year of OPT without having to do anything, and a TN is easy if you have a job.

Sorry to be harsh, but a US law degree isn't exactly portable, how did you not think of this before graduation?

Why are you on a B2?
