Are there any firms that are notoriously good or bad with regards to which hotels they tend to book at, etc.?

In my experience, they all were pretty good. The better question is what firms were notoriously bad.

Cravath is a good host firm.

Location is really important. Most are within a block of the office you are interviewing with, so dont use a firm in Times Square.
