Hello There,

Preparing for OCI job screeners. However, this summer I only interned for five weeks with a local county judge. After that I did not do anything much but focus on how to break into big law. Now I may have a chance. Will the question come up that "after your internship lasting from late May to almost end of June why did you not do anything else?" In reality, I was really also tired from 1L. This was only a five week internship that could have been extended to summer II if absolutely needed. I did not get the extension either because I thought you did not have to have your full summer full. I ask because now that I remember, all the interns who were with me had something else planned after the ending of the five weeks except me. But it's too late to do anything now.

I thought that as long as I had some internship experience after 1L in the summer, especially some sort of judicial thing it would look good. I did not know that I was to remain busy all throughout the summer. Did I screw up?

If you're that worried, just put "Summer 2016" instead of the exact dates on your resume as long as it won't look out of place.

But I have to say that if you were so tired from 1L that you could only work 5 weeks this summer, biglaw might not be the right decision for you.

Yeah just do this on your resume and you'll be fine. I had an internship that was 6 weeks my 1L summer and not a single person during OCI asked how long my 1L internship was for. Also if you have any other summer jobs from college on resume just make them say "Sumer 201X" as well and you're good.
