Accept more than one big law OCI offer as a summer associate

Is it possible to accept more than one law firm? I have looked at others' Linkedin accounts and have noticed that they have listed two summer associate positions as a 2L for their 2L summer. The weird thing is that they both start the same month. How is this possible, and is it recommended?

Usually it's because that individual summered at a firm their first year of law school, too. Most firms in major cities allow to split so long as you spend the first X weeks at their firm. Obviously, you can see the conflicts that presents.

Some firms (e.g., Susman Godfrey by the very nature of its summer program; many other TX firms) allow you to split. But this is not the norm in major markets. Most profiles you see are from people who also worked as a 1L summer associate.

Starting 2 summer associate positions in the same month must be a typo. And the above commenter is correct -- most splitters split with their 1L firm. Although I have seem some people split with a completely different firm, personally, that kind of move comes across as a bit of prestige-whoring and looking really indecisive. But this is only my two cents -- people do it, but it's not common.
