Any cb movement so far this week? If we haven't heard anything from a certain firm by now, is it safe to say that we're not getting a cb?

They are still rolling in. I received a callback today from a NY firm I screened with on Friday.

Anybody have an feel for how our class is doing overall? I have a few callbacks right now and my grades are just disgustingly poor. The fact that I pulled this off made me think that the rest of the class must be doing decently overall...

Hey guys, I'm a 2016 grad and I wanted to wish you all well: go Hoos!
Remember that it is still very early in the game -- I did not have my first offer until mid-September, and I was above-median.
Good luck!

Re: 2016 UVA Law OGI
With a week gone by, half of my interviewers have sent rejections and I have zero callbacks. Time to frantically spam the email inboxes of every law firm recruiter I can find who hasn't rejected me yet. This is horrible...
If I don't get a BigLaw job, going to UVA was a big financial mistake, as I could have gotten the same BigLaw alternative jobs at a non-T14 school, but with a full-ride scholarship. After graduation I'd be doing the same work for the same below-180k pay, but without any debt.
Having a below median GPA is not fun.

If you don't mind, what's your GPA range and what market were you targeting? Below median at UVA hasn't been too much of an issue in recent years.UVA2018 wrote:With a week gone by, half of my interviewers have sent rejections and I have zero callbacks. It seems like you targeted the right areas. What about Texas? Any connections or desires to live there?UVA2018 wrote:NY, DC, and my hometown. ~3.2 GPAAnonymous User wrote:If you don't mind, what's your GPA range and what market were you targeting? Re: 2016 UVA Law OGI
I'm not panicking as much, as I'm not the only one on a law firm callback waitlist. A lot of 2Ls were hanging out on campus this week with very few callbacks, waiting for the firms to finish up with those having above-median grades/interviewing skills before we get our shot. Plus it looks like only ~100 2Ls get biglaw jobs through OGI, the other ~100 get placed outside the process (via networking/mass mailing), so I could do that as well. OGI is preferable but not the end-all be-all.

Now I'm panicked and despondent. No offers. If hundreds of law firms all threw my application in the garbage, maybe that means I'm just not cut out for law? I'm a complete package of defective: bad grades, bad resume... must be something "off" about me in interviews

What are your grades and what markets are you targeting? How many firms have you made maiked? How often have you reached out to the career office?UVA2018 wrote:Now I'm panicked and despondent.
