Munger Tolles- Top 15% CDN w/law Review?
Cornell/Duke/Northwestern Student with Law Review
Should I bother drafting a cover letter and shooting over an application via email, or is it a lost cause? Ties to CA.

While I still think the OP should apply, it's worth noting that top 10% at UCLA/USC probably has a better chance with MTO than top 15% at CDN.gaddockteeg wrote:Do it. My friend got a CB with USC LR, top 10%

Out of curiosity, is the same true of a student with top 10% at CDN?rpupkin wrote:While I still think the OP should apply, it's worth noting that top 10% at UCLA/USC probably has a better chance with MTO than top 15% at CDN.gaddockteeg wrote:Do it. My friend got a CB with USC LR, top 10%
Is top 10% at UCLA/USC> top 10% at CDN because of strong regional ties, or are they viewed equally?

Re: Munger Tolles- Top 15% CDN w/law Review?
Munger regularly hires top students from USC and UCLA, and it does not regularly hire from Cornell, Duke, or Northwestern. The post-clerkship market is different, but for law student hiring, the summer class is always as a baseline T6 + Berkeley and Penn, 1-2 from USC and UCLA each, and every so often a student from Loyola LA. There are sometimes students from other schools like Michigan and Howard as well but its not as consistent. That's why a top UCLA student might have a better shot than a top student at a lower T14, but again, this changes when you're coming off clerkships.

FYI, MTO is no longer participating in OCI at USC, and the current summer class had no USC but 3-4 UCLAs.Anonymous User wrote:Munger regularly hires top students from USC and UCLA, and it does not regularly hire from Cornell, Duke, or Northwestern. Please stop using arbitrary tiers. CDN is not a real thing.
Either say your school anonymously, or just say T-14.
And yea, Munger Tolles is not that selective. You'll be fine if you interview well.
