Should I tell my summer employer about my part-time externship?

Should I tell my summer law firm that I will be doing externship remotely part-time at the courthouse? I will be doing case summaries, which are disclosed to the public already. Different fields of law and different region but within the same state.
What do you think?

remotely and at the court house? Interesting. Regardless, let them know -- if they have an issue w/ the court gig, quit it - no point in being an indentured servant for a resume line if you have to forego income to do so.
