Shearman fucking sucks dude don't even worry about your callback the associates there can't even pretend like they enjoy their jobs they're all pretty openly miserable but just happy they can pay off their student loans.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone have a callback at Shearman? Anyone feel it was less conversational than other ones? Each of my interviewers had a very distinct style and I'm wondering if that was orchestrated.

My cb interviews with shearman were pretty conversational. Talked with two interviewers a lot about the news, college basketball. Fwiw people I met seemed busy, but happy. Also went to evening reception, same story there.

God dammit. That feeling when you're having a good CB interview and then you slip up and say something a little weird and you can see on the interviewer's face that you fucked up... the worst.

Yep. I know that feel. I said "Yaaay" in sort of a high pitched voice during a screener interview and my interviewer looked at me like I had just dropped trow and taken a shit on the coffee table.Anonymous User wrote:God dammit. And while "yaaay" isn't the most professional thing a grown man could have said, the context was that she had just mentioned she loved Columbia students. Wtf was I supposed to do, NOT say "yaaay"? Bitch, I'M a Columbia student!

anybody else notice that associates always order arnold palmers at callback lunches? every single CB lunch the associates order arnold palmers. Is there some kind of unspoken tradition that I should know about?

Re: Columbia EIP 2016
There's a legend of a guy who once had an interview lunch with a partner. During that lunch the partner orders an Arnold Palmer. The poor interviewee had never heard of an Arnold Palmer and assumed it was an alcoholic drink. So the interviewee goes ahead and orders himself a Jack & Coke. When the partner got refills of his drink, the interviewee would get another Jack & Coke to match him. By the end of the lunch the poor soul was sloshed and, ultimately, no-offered.Anonymous User wrote:anybody else notice that associates always order arnold palmers at callback lunches? every single CB lunch the associates order arnold palmers. Some say he's no-offered to this very day.
Maybe the associates are trying to recreate that?

I know two people who got their offers 2 days after their callbacks (on different days), in the afternoon. Not sure if that's a trend, or if it just happened that way, though.Anonymous User wrote:Debevoise offer anyone?
