Taking vacation days during SA --> no offer?

I would like to take two days off in the middle of my SA to be at a wedding (this will coincide with July 4 weekend so I would be gone the Thurs/Fri before the holiday and then Monday July 4 as well). Is this a terrible idea?

No - a wedding is understandable. Tell the firm in advance and right before make sure you either get your assignments done or manage expectations on delivery until after you get back.

I was "SA"-ing for a department of the federal government. I had paid vacation days that summer. It was awesome!

why do you need to take the thurs and fri off for a wedding? im fine with a couple days off and most vacations make sense but this seems sketchy.

Eh - I wouldn't think twice about it. Especially if it's far and/or op is in the wedding.
