Never seen this done. If you're dead-set on signalling who you worked for, perhaps you could include a list of work references.

I have the name of a partner I worked for on my resume, but in my case it was a very small firm (i.e. there was only one partner) that did more lobbying/consulting, and that partner happened to be the former head of one of the 5 federal financial regulatory agencies. I justify it in that very few people know the name of the firm, but everyone knows the partner. Since I've left that firm, every interview I've gotten, the interviewer wanted to spend a significant amount of time talking about my experience there.
As for your case, if the partner is well known enough that you'd want to put their name on your resume, just having the firm and the relevant practice area would probably suffice (i.e. you don't have to say you worked with Ted Olson; Gibson Dunn DC Appellate Practice would get the point across). So no, do not put that partners name on your resume.
