Summers used to hilariously wipe their faces with moo shoo pancakes they mistook for hand towels and you guys can't even come up with one measly reply all instruction to bring coke to the Hamptons or whatever?

There's something deeply shameful about sitting in my office bungling some makework project with my slacks unbuttoned to accommodate the effects of a month and a half of summer lunches

God, you just hit the nail on the head of my summer experience. I think next poll should be estimates of weight gain from the summer.anyriotgirl wrote:There's something deeply shameful about sitting in my office bungling some makework project with my slacks unbuttoned to accommodate the effects of a month and a half of summer lunches

I stepped on the scale this weekend. I've put on a solid 5 despite running 20-25 miles a week.acijku2 wrote:God, you just hit the nail on the head of my summer experience. Looks like Quinn Emanuel will give out $35k to summers looking to be poached.

I.E. we're hoping a lot of other firms get rid of or substantially reduce their SA programs.“If we fail, other firms will probably never do it,” said Urquhart. “If we succeed, I suspect a lot of them will follow. We’ll know how we have done in another year or two.”

Pretty sure that's the case. It might be fun for associates to read about, but I'm guessing that a story about summers on ATL is something that could potentially leave a reputation for someone, at least at that firm, assuming they get an offer at all. Also, last year's Latham story is pretty hard to top.lawman84 wrote:Maybe people are just not posting the good stories?pancakes3 wrote:a slap is good but not compared to last year's coke-fueled cockslapping of latham partners by a Saudi prince (or whatever)

I don't know what Quinn means by "fail" and "succeed" but this might fracture the world of lockstep BL recruiting. To combat Quinn's poaching, 180 and 160 firms might have to cut SA rates to sub-prorated rates so they can hire even more SAs to fight attrtion. On one hand, more SAs, on the other, more no-offer/cold-offers.
All I know is more SAs = more stories so c/o 2016 may very well go down as one of the most boring stories on record.

The moral dwindled as their weekly food rations were reduced:
“I think if law firms could do away with them, every law firm would because they are really expensive not just with the money you’re paying to the students but the amount of time the firms have to pay to the care and feeding of the students,” said Urquhart.

I have finished all my work, "billed" .75 today and have nothing on the horizon. Taking commissions for art projects made out of office supplies if anyone is into, like, subversive postreconstructionism or whatever. Will send you the art and will post pics to the thread. Others feel free to jump in too.

I can't tell if my scale is broken or if I've made it through most of the summer with only a 3-5 lb weight gain.
Also, I'm finally getting another wave of substantive litigation work and it's so annoying that it's coming at the end of the summer. I just want to chill and NOT do legal research right now.

I've got the right amount of work to finish the summer with.

I just spent half an hour walking around the office playing Pokemon Go. Caught a Weedle in the copy room. This is honestly the best job I will ever have.
