How to ask a firm if they'll give me an offer?

As the title says, I got a 2L SA job at a small firm. I was offered the job over the phone, but they didn't really give me a chance to ask any questions at the time. They just said they'll email me with info. Is there a way I can ask them about the possibility of a full-time offer after the SA without seeming like an idiot?

Wait until you start working.

if the potential for an offer is a deciding factor for taking the SA, then you have to just be upfront. ask them if there's at least the potential of receiving on offer assuming you do well, etc.

on the other hand if you're taking the SA regardless, then hold off and just kill it this summer and at the end tell them you've enjoyed the work and would like to stay on for 3L (if possible) and post-grad.

Bruh - I would tell them that you are very pleased with your offer for an SA and would like to hear about post SA options if the summer goes well. Plain and simple and fair.

Also ask for statistics on the % of offers they extend to SAs.
